CBD is short for Canna-bid-iol. It is one of the many cannabinoids that can be found in the cannabis plant, Cannabis Sativa.
Unlike the most well known cannabidiol THC (tetrahydrocannabidol), CBD is not psychoactive as it contains less than 0.2 % THC , meaning it won’t make you ‘ high’ which is the sensation most commonly associated with cannabis. This means it is suitable for the whole family.
CBD oil is made by extracting CBD from the cannabis plant and then diluting it with a carrier oil such as hemp or coconut oil.

CBD is classified by the World Health Organisation as ‘generally well tolerated with a good safety profile’ There is no evidence of any public health related problems associated with the use of CBD.
